"the series—which tackles issues like eating disorders, parenthood, adoption, and the general unhappiness and dissatisfaction that comes with being an adult—almost certainly has more on its mind than just Ventimiglia’s butt."

That's fine, it can stay at my place.

I want him to keep the beard for the revival.

Trial of the Time Lord is actually a great season for Baker, the studio just screws him over really bad.

I love the second series because it's the weird, adult, WTF fun that was totally missing in the boring first season. Not GOOD, but such a great addition to the universe.

I've always chalked the half-human bit as post-regeneration madness or means of distraction/confusion and left it at that.

That's what I was expecting too, but his return seemed pretty immediate. I'm guessing it'll be a by-product of tachyon energy tampering they set up in this ep. The Flash is still an episode behind Supergirl.

Oh hey, Barry has his white logo in the Supergirl crossover, so that's definitely in a future episode.

So much of the episode was character introductions and getting everyone caught up on each other that it mostly felt like groundwork for future crossovers.

Now she's just smoking hot in the smoking hot kind of way.

It reminded me way more of Edge of Destruction than anything else. Having an early episode take place entirely on a ship and exploring character relationships before moving on to the next time hop.

I actually had to pause at that. It's so dumb but surprised me perfectly.

Series 6 is half and half with me on episodes. There are some one-offs I love, but most arc episodes are a mess, and the character development, while signaled at, is shot to hell in execution.

Yeah! It was so funny when people were like "oh, Enemy of the World is actually great" because I could just tell from the audio how exciting it was and knew that the visuals weren't doing it any sort of justice. Actually SEEING it was above and beyond a treat, it was more than I could have expected, but I always

And I'm totally willing to wait until next season to see what this Doctor eventually becomes! I feel like we're in for a Baker long-haul, so I'm trying not to pass judgment too quickly. It's just between those two seasons it seemed like a major, not quite properly explored, shift.

I watched it all in order (some I watched as reconstructions) so I feel as though I did grow with the pair. I understand that not everyone can sit through that, but I can't help comparing.

It's what I took from their last conversation in the diner. He describes remembering mummy's on trains and such, but he can't remember what she sounded like.

Yes, one of my favorite lines.

His women are tropey, even if a few of them rise above because we get to spend more time with them. He's gotten a lot better since S8, but S6-7 was extremely hard to watch.

I think the Doctor still has had all that emotional growth, he remembers how much he cared for her and everything that happened, he just can't remember her. All the development is still there.
