Old games can still have a tournament life; there’s nothing wrong with that. And Melee is still very entertaining to watch.
I enjoyed his show, greatly respect Mr Rogers and think that the world would be a better place if more people followed his example and died in 2003.
Fox News and the rise of conservative media and the consequent balkanization of where people get their information. Sadly I don’t have a joke.
I dislike Gillibrand because she’s after this quick-fix top-down change of “if women were in power, things would be better” rather than challenge the system from the bottom up.
It’s gotta be frustrating for Nintendo that they made ARMS and Splatoon2 with Esports in mind but people would rather form communities around manipulating the broken mechanics of an 18 year old party game....
Russia started their anti-US campaign in 2014, long before I announced that I would run for President.
“Putin, from everything I see, has no respect for this person,” Trump said, pointing at Clinton.
Certified old guy as well here. I had fun watching this as my very first e-sports event. I got the major idea of what was going on, though I guess part of the issue is that the small details get lost by the speed of things. I got a bit confused when the commentator was seemingly talking about something I could not see…
The color change makes it so much better. My brain is so used to red = bad, blue = good idea, thanks to playing overwatch, that I had trouble keeping the teams straight for a long time.
They haven’t shown any away colours for OWL yet but I imagine they’ll stick to the white-dominant schemes for maximum differentiation. Don’t follow IRL sportsball but I’m pretty sure that’s how they’ve always done it.
The issue with third person is that eliminations become far less impactful, especially for hitscan heroes.
I think they perhaps focused on individual DPS heroes a bit too much in the games I watched, though I think they still need some work on transitioning between characters so it’s easier to follow when they mostly focus on a single player. And of course they’re going to focus on playmakers and stars, who tend to be on…
We only saw the initial upgrade to the spectator options, they are adding top down strategic view, replays, slow motion and all the jazz u’de expect and more, I was honestly surprised by the UI redesign colors for each team
i feel like for instant replays they should go to first person, or when a camera man believes something spectacular is about to happen they go to first person. but like how all “regular” sports are play, i still feel like the perspective should be from a vantage that isn’t completely static, but enough to recognize…
I totally agree. I always had a little bit of a tough time following as a spectator in previous tournaments before the changes. It may be my imagination, but I feel like even audience feedback was more frequent and forceful, as it was much easier to tell what was going on.
