I want to be hopeful that these sort of “100 year floods” occurring every other year in red states will finally get those voters onboard with putting more pressure on the fossil fuel interests, and realize that our current administration doesn’t care enough to take actions to stop things from getting worse.

As an American, I’ve always wondered why red isn’t a symbol of the left here myself given its connotations to communism. But I think it has something to do with the Democratic Party here in the States historically championing the interests of the working-class, or “blue-collar” workers.
