Could I ask a question, not to interrogate, but out of curiosity? Why do you shop at Whole Foods? It seems to be worth all the hassle to you, and the times I’ve been there it didn’t do much to overwhelm me, or even regular-whelm me. You’re seeing something I’m not; what is it?
The “we should never kill anyone because, umm, it’s a line you can’t cross if you’re a hero!” thing is something that could work on paper, but in practice it
I am a seasoned Whole Paycheck shopper (and you have also seen me question a few people here). Next time let me know, and I will come with you and we will ask her questions.
Hmmm. I think I may try something new, and have fun with it.
Might I suggest that the next time you go in should you encounter her, passive aggressively pepper her with a bunch of random questions.
I’m white, and I don’t trust them.
Having the actor who played John Walton beat a slave in to submission back in the 1970's is what flipped disconnected white America on its head. All the talk of blacks are just animals got trampled hard.
It is amazing how much better an actress Laurie Metcalf is than anyone on Supergirl. I am a fan of the show and enjoy their performances. It is just so easy to see how much better Laurie is than them. Hopefully, they can pick up some tricks of the trade.
That bit about watching with her daughter is awesome to hear! I hate having to explain to some friends about why it is important to have Supergirl/ Black Lightning and a variety of faces in your super/hero stuff!
It’s nice to see Winn get more material, but I found the drama a bit overwrought. Maybe because the whole thing (parental abandonment) has kind of been done to death and it makes me wish for more people with healthy parental relationships. That being said, at least we got have to Laurie Metcalf make snarky comments…
the moment Alex and J’onn had at the very end worked entirely because of the insane chemistry and likeability the cast has. I care about these people damnit.
Another injoke. The toy factory was the W.W. Wiggens Toy Factory. W.W. Wiggens was a toy company owner in the pages of The Flash who wanted to make boomerangs the big thing and hired this guy from Australia to wear a costume. Guess who he became?
The discussion about race was a little on-the-nose, but I do appreciate when Supergirl does make the effort to expand out of its topical comfort zone.
I don’t know why he’s complaining, Sheetz is the shit.
Agreed, the confluence of two very white traits, narcissism and sensitivity, are what has brought their food to where it is today. See my previous comment about the gluten trolls demanding the whole world accommodate their make-believe.
Looks like one of those icky RealDolls. It’s that skin.
I can’t be too mad at Swift for covering September - it prompted you to write this article, prompting me to go down an Earth, Wind & Fire binge over the last 15 minutes.
Oh dear god. I don’t know whether to laugh or be offended (at Taylor Swift. I enjoyed the article.) I once heard - you won’t believe it, but I swear on my shrunken little heart it’s true - the Commodores’ “Brick House” sung lounge-lizard style while standing in line at a Starbucks at least 15 years ago. I personally…
