The lost episode of “The Cosby Show” ...

na, na, na, gonna have a good time

“Apparently Glover was pretty adamant about the frat house scene featuring full frontal nudity”

That’s a valid criticism all right. I don’t know if it accounts for all the animosity — probably not — but those people who felt Kara needed an arc, they’ve got a point.

Now playing

“We’d be ready to call the calvary”

Gonna give an example of something. I mentioned that I contribute money to a women’s shelter, but that’s actually not quite true. On their Web site they say they accept money, but they also take gift cards to Giant Eagle and WalMart, and they ask for specific goods like kitchen stuff and office supplies. So I

As respectfully as I can possibly respond to this: there is no god damn “White Supremacy Self-Destruct” button that I, or any other person, can push. With that little reality out of the way, I have to try to figure out what I can do, as one person in over three hundred million in this country, who probably cannot

True. This is one of those cases where you have to be the change you want to see in the world. That is a necessary prerequisite to anything else you do, or else anything else you do will be hosed. At the same time, it’s not enough in and of itself, so ya gotta find some way to be useful in some positive form.

I really, really want to believe his great sin was being politically naive in the early 2000s. Certainly I haven’t seen anything since where he has supported Trump or Sarah Palin or their kind, so maybe politics simply aren’t his thing.

“Are you saying that only white people beat women, mistreat LGBTX people or commit Genocide?”

Are you a man, and if so, do you think it’s wrong that women are abused by men?

I will say that I’ve looked into SURJ and I worry about them: they look very much to be a white people organization dedicated to doing what white people think needs to be done for racial justice, without much interest in consulting the people they claim to want to help. ... Oh, it turns out HuffPo published an article

I admit it, I love Mike Nelson with a great passion and I have trouble imagining ever not loving him.

It’s not a homeless shelter but a women’s shelter, you know, for victims of domestic abuse and the like. They don’t cater strictly to people of color, but based on their wish list (which includes items like “multicultural hair care products”), it’s not just for white women. And the need seems pretty legitimate.
