When I was 13 (which was well before the days of the Internet), I would have LOVED it if someone criticized what I wrote based on its substance. That would’ve meant that someone skipped past the detail of my age and wanted to engage me as a person with thoughts and opinions.

In this day and age, it’s entirely reasonable for preteens and teens to be exposed to feminist writing etc. online, especially if she’s using Tumblr. Don’t write her off just because she’s young.
