I read the WaPo transcript of that call, and holy shit, I had forgotten about how completely batshit and brazen it was.

I’m surprised the police even did anything in this case. Even after others did all the legwork for them, I figured they’d just let this one go until everyone but the family forgot about it.

The fact that the family had to work to investigate Quawan’s apparent murder while still mourning his death because the police wouldn’t, and then getting a suspect after the police didn’t bother is heartbreaking. I wish it hadn’t been necessary for them to have that kind of strength.

I think it is most certainly a trend however, if black women can get their foot in the door and get themselves in positions of power, it doesn’t have to be a trend.
