May be a dumb question but asking because filtered water was brought up. We have to use bottled water for drinking, coffee, etc., (GenX and PFAS contaminate our water supply/home filtering will not work) and just wondering if there is one type of water that is better for coffee than the others. I buy purified water,

I used a Nespresso for years. It was awesome, but I found myself going through wayyyy too many pods, so I switched to grinding my own. There were a couple of reusable pod models, but they seemed too fiddly, so I finally ended up selling the Nespresso for real cheap. The new owner is also pretty happy with it, too.

Good old low-tech Moka Pot FTW. My wife and I like lattes in the morning, so we got a big stainless steel Moka from Bialetti, and a large stainless milk frothing pitcher, which I put directly on the stove at low heat, and then use a battery-powered hand frother (I think from PowerLix) just after I pour the coffee. End

I love the nespresso. I also have a french press, buy whole beans, have a burr grinder, and use an expensive drip machine that keeps the temp of the water at the proper temp for brewing. But I also use city water because I like the flavor better (I don’t know why, it’s weird) and disposable filters instead of the gold

I once had someone correct me when I said “It’s a moot point” and tell me “You mean mute.”

Middle of yard was probably the best light for the fruit trees.

Bath sheets since the 1970's.  I think they dry faster, because the same amount of water is spread over a larger towel area.

A good quality, uniformly-heating, non-stick griddle is essential. Even if you don’t have kids. French toast is a snap. Pancakes are cake. Grilled cheese is simple (350F, cook each side separate until cheese just starts to melt, then flip one side onto the other - takes about 2/3 the time at most). Toss a whole

To be fair (though to be honest I had the exact same reaction), a sheet pan is still a pan.

This is one of those scenarios where a griddle is ridiculously useful. Seriously, if you like pancakes and have kids, get a griddle to save time for the next several years. You can cook 6+ at a time and they are so easy to clean. We make them about 4-5" across, and here’s the best part:

Yes this^^^ I had the EXACT same after thought after reading the article.

I said this exact thing but much harsher. I believe my exact words were, "that's just cake, you f****ing idiots."

This is along the lines of another article I saw where someone coined the term, “DIY Food” - You mean, “COOKING”? Another one was a Vegan influencer who called it “Hunting, but vegan-style” - You mean, “GATHERING”??

PAN-CAKE. In a PAN.

It might also would also be cool to spread some kind filling over the top and make a roulade.

This really puts the term ‘pan-cake’ into perspective.

“Follow your heart.”

Well, I don’t hear it so much anymore, but “Just ignore the bullies and they’ll go away.” No, no they won’t. They’ll realize they’ve found a target that won’t fight back and will continue to victimize that target.

Noooooo...that wastes all the delicious fat! I stand by the low and slow method. Put in a cold oven, turn it to 300 degrees and bake until it reaches your preferred level of crispy. Then pour off all that delicious fat to use in everything else.

As a man who likes his bacon slightly crispy but still somewhat chewy, no thank you, Your Highness.

In addition to being significantly less secure, it won’t learn your face as well either - so glasses, hats, makeup, etc... will reduce its effectiveness. Face ID’s depth mapping handles those much better.

That being said, my personal preference is the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It’s substantially faster and more
