Actually it's kind of the opposite. People typically use too much laundry detergent per load, and the packs keep people from doing that.

So does this mean that my Gmail attachments will automagically show up in my Google Drive? I'm using a script that copies my attachments to Drive right now, it would be nice if I didn't have to use it.

I agree that dropping down into a full squat is not for everyone. It is perfectly healthy for the majority of people, however. But it's completely incorrect to say that squatting past parallel is dangerous, and many people can benefit from it.

The trainer discussing squats is incorrect about never going below parallel. It's perfectly healthy to squat all the way down to the floor, and actually better for you in a number of ways (increased strength throughout the entire range of motion, better flexibility, greater glue and quad activation, etc.) There was

Ditto. In fact I have to stick my feet out from under the covers just so I can fall asleep. There's absolutely no way I could fall asleep with socks on.

Honestly, I'm just incredibly ADD. I keep my phone/laptop/tablet handy for when there are commercials on (like right now). It does come in handy during the odd time when I want to Google something that comes up on TV, though.

Many people suggested sprinkling sugar on the coffee grounds before brewing. Consider adding a pinch of salt as well (up to 1/4tsp depending on how much coffee is being brewed). Also, part of the reason coffee from a drip brewer tastes so awful is because people let it sit on top of the burner all day, which

If you have a farmer's market near you, check to see if they have duck fat. Mine does (DeKalb Farmer's Market in Georgia) and it is literally the fat they cut off of ducks when they cut them up to sell the meat. I buy several pounds at a time and render it, and it's really cheap because the farmer's market doesn't

Great post. In regards to butter, it appears that it's better for fat loss than other oils because it has a high(er) MCT content. Also, there appears to be a strong inverse correlation between high fat dairy intake and metabolic syndrome: http://suppversity.blogspot.com/2012/10/fat-advantage-61-lower-rates-of.html.

This is a pretty gigantic waste of time. With even less effort you could either 1. mix the dry ingredients together beforehand, which makes prep time minimal, or, even better, 2. actually cook a bunch of pancakes off beforehand and freeze those instead (these heat up easily in a toaster or in a hot pan).

This effect is why cooking your own meals can help you eat less food. Make it yourself, enjoy it more.

Check out http://www.leangains.com. Martin does an amazing job of debunking many of the common myths, such as the myth that breakfast helps you lose weight, and the myth that higher meal frequency ramps up your metabolism.

I always ask for a coffee in a cup one size larger than what it's meant for (e.g. a small in a medium cup... or a tall in a grande cup in Starbuckese). The extra room at the top of the cup keeps coffee from sloshing out of the top of the cup - especially important when you're walking around with the coffee or just

I will often use eggs that are a full month or two past the expiration date, and they're just fine. I still crack them into a separate dish, though, to make sure nothing it wrong with them (I also do this with fresh eggs, because you just never know).

You do realize that these natural "non-sugar" sweeteners (aside from the Stevia) are full of sugar, right?

Tethering with T-Mobile over a 3G connection (not even 4G) is consistently faster than my girlfriend's connection over Clear (which is supposed to be 4G).

@grysl: Absolutely agree. I'm used to hitting the spacebar twice, and I'm not about to expend a significant amount of effort to "correct" myself. I honestly don't care how it looks when I'm done, so long as it's readable.

A 150lb man will burn 85Kcal/hr while sitting, and 108Kcal/hr standing. I don't think standing buys you anything significant in the way of calorie burning. You could stop working every hour or so and do a few bodyweight squats and pushups and likely get the same effect (and probably better results in terms of lean
