I thought a man's job was to fluff up his mustache or take a bath in Drakkar Noir...

In other thread, I mentioned that her supervisors should have made it very clear how dangerous it was and should have asked her to stay home so yeah, they should have done their job. The whole thing is a mess.

Agree for the most part but my understanding is that she went TO Cleveland without clearance and only called the CDC in her way back and also that she wasn't wearing protective gear for the first couple of days of treating Mr. Duncan. She left after the first nurse became infected, IIRC, which should have been a huge

Ebola is not contagious unless the infected person is actively symptomatic and the CDC didn't create the 100.4 temperature threshold; that is the medical standard f what a fever is. Ebola is also not airborne, unlike the flu. Having said that, she shouldn't have gone and her hospital, Dallas County, the CDC, her

Finding day care early on is one of the most stressful things a parent can go through: trust, cost, convenience, safety, illness, you name it. I will say that my son rarely gets sick now (though he did get H1N1).

Stories like this make me even more pissed off when young women refuse to call themselves feminists. THIS is why feminism is still (and was then!) relevant.

Grrrrr...

You know, on TV back in the 50s, actors weren't allowed to say "pregnant". Watch old "I Love Lucy" episodes!

Yeah, my son didn't get sick until two weeks after he started day care at six months. Then, it was like clock work: once a month.

Not only that, you'd think he would be kind of nice about having a baby in the courtroom. I know it's "the law" and everything but it's not a murder trial. To me, it seems like kind of a sweet diversion.

Without even reading the article, I knew it was a male judge. URGH. Society holds mothers up as these paragons of virtue then tear them down when they want to fulfill their career or educational goals. Disgusting.

I like Three Dots tees-they last for years and are so flattering (I get the British tee with 3/4 sleeves).

She wasn't symptomatic until the day after she landed so your husband (and you) are fine. Still, she shouldn't have left Dallas.

You know, my husband is an epidemiologist and while he was getting his MPH, he learned that pig farms are pretty much the worst when it comes to negative effects on the surrounding environment; haven't watched the Frontline yet but curious if it goes into that. The stories he told were disgusting.

Wait, what? Because I said that vegetables have fewer antibiotics than meat? I'm killing bees or I'm the worst person ever? One comment on one article and this is the response? Perhaps I'm misunderstanding.

Thanks for the reply-I seriously appreciate it and will watch the video-but my comment wasn't really that smug; that word is constantly used with vegetarians and it becomes tiresome.

... but no antibiotics, which helps overall.

I'll bring some Clorox. Being 47 and bringing my husband and son will likely preclude any HS encounters but I do appreciate the warning. Also, gross.

Keep up the comments of reason!

Me, too! Got it the same day as my flu shot and I could barely move. Still, I was proud and relieved to have gotten the booster.
