He was likely vomiting and bleeding constantly in the end stage of the disease so there must have been one tiny moment that something got into her system as she was changing out of her bodily-fluid covered protective gear. Health officials and experts have nothing to gain by lying about transmissibility.

I'm driving to your fair city to see Paul McCartney tomorrow night. Will I get Ebola?

I just read that he had a temperature of 103 and knowing that he was from Liberia, the staff still sent him home. That is the discrete disconnect right there. I absolutely agree with your opinion about the cost of health care but I think it was a Friday night and even if he did have a PCP, the clinic would have been

I doubt MD Anderson would have screwed this up; this hospital messed up badly but not all are terrible. Still, I'm flummoxed that they would have sent home a Liberian with a 103 temperature. Mind-boggling.

...which is probably why Ebola is waning in Nigeria, I would assume? Oh, hi. We were just commenting on the Gawker article.

Are those seven-year olds? Yeesh.

OK, I see where you are coming from; I believe the Nobel committee chose an Indian and Pakistani in the same year for similar reasons. I think Malala will, of course, receive most of the attention because of her story but-as you no doubt no by now-Satyarthi probably could have won it on his own. And, like peasandrice

Now I know what LA neighborhood to avoid. Sheesh.

Yeah, I saw it last night. I saw The Skeleton Twins, too, and loved it.

Really? They didn't play that at the Alamo Drafthouse...

Because freedom.

"some big social cause". Huh. So, you have no female in your life who is important to you?

I'm watching the UT-Baylor game and a TV spot (can't remember the brand) just showed a dad freaking out about a bug on his arm and the narrator says, "...And how to be less girly".

It always makes me wistful when a Jezebel writer leaves because it's like this lovely community is a little less lovely and supportive and funny. Best of luck to you, Dodai!

True story: Stevie Wonder lost his sense of smell after being in a car wreck.

My son just told me that elephants believe that a baby elephant must be "right-side up" in order to heal and that is why they are rushing to his side. He's 12 and I haven't confirmed but what amazing, spectacular animals, no matter what.
