Maybe. I remember him essentially doing it the same way when I saw him do it live. The whole idea, as he presents, seemed to be “clearly I was on drugs when I gave this interview. Look at these answers” when I don’t think anyone would have made that connection if he hadn’t checked into rehab shortly after.

Having seen him do this bit live and then in the special, I just don’t think the interview is strange enough to make it work.
