I mean, he said a lot about it over the years. He just hasn’t renounced it or whatever the AV Club would want him to say.

With all due respect, I don’t think the psychology of how the rich and powerful *really think* is going to be revealed on an AV Club message board.

Succession. Other than that? I like Barry.

The showrunner who sets the tone of the series, Jessie Armstrong, is British.

Don’t wake the sheeple up too quickly, bro.

The daughter worked for a Bernie Sanders-style politician.

I know, right? Finally someone gets what I was saying.

Kendall said it.

Any real version of these people, even if they felt that way, would have total contempt for self-styled progressives and the far left. But that does not seem to make it into these scripts.

“They’re not all cryptofascist right-wing nutjobs, we also have some venture-capital Dems and centrist ghouls.”

“I may never get to write the same 3 Trump jokes every night ever again!”

Maybe. I remember him essentially doing it the same way when I saw him do it live. The whole idea, as he presents, seemed to be “clearly I was on drugs when I gave this interview. Look at these answers” when I don’t think anyone would have made that connection if he hadn’t checked into rehab shortly after.

Having seen him do this bit live and then in the special, I just don’t think the interview is strange enough to make it work. I think he even knows this, which is why he does it in a funny voice, and that’s what gets the laughs. The text, taken on its own, just seems like an observational comedian making some slightly

Exactly. Either way, I don’t believe his claim (said somewhere) that he just picked a random name.

Seems pretty clear he wasn’t aware that Keanu Reeves was on Twitter’s list of celebrities you’re not allowed to take a cheap shot at. No one would care if he’d put someone else, so it’s somewhat disingenuous to take it out when it’s Reeves.

Jada, I love her. African Queens, can’t wait to see it.

I assume they concluded that they didn’t identify as either. They should have decided that they were funny.

What’s the guess on the share of people *furious* that Amy Seimetz got replaced as director on this show who have actually seen something Amy Seimetz has directed?

Molly Kearney

Barring a major break in the last few episodes, I feel like we’ll be seeing just how afraid or not afraid of Twitter the show is. If they cut the tall good-looking guy last year after one season, who wasn’t exactly blowing the doors down but at least had a memorable character, and then keeping Molly Kearney?
