I bet exactly none of the rotating project leads ever considered making it a single-player story driven game a-la Red Dead but with pirates, and that saddens me

I didn’t really “hate” the game as much as I just dreaded the thought of playing it, which I forced myself to do anyway because Zelda. Also the story, setting, and story beats were genuinely great.

Sounds like this whole controversy can be sidestepped with an automatic ‘opt-out of Collections’ feature for mods going forward. 

Give creators 2-4 weeks to pull/opt-out their existing mods, then disclaim that newly published mods will always be accessible on the site unless they choose otherwise.
