2003-2015 was a sleazy time in America. Reality TV reached its’ zenith with how outrageous it could be, mean “humor” was cool, and that’s why Perez Hilton had any relevancy. Trashy, sexually charged stuff was in vogue.

I think it would be better as a middle name. Frances might be a good homage though, it was Diana’s middle name, Harry’s maternal grandmother’s name, and Lady Sarah Chatto’s middle name. Lady Sarah is one of Harry godparents and was  close to Diana.

I really don’t think so. That’s an easier path for comedians and singers, to target the red state audience. But movies and TV series take a lot up front investment, and need to play wide to make back their money. At least the kind of projects Joss is used to working on.

Joss must have been a real monster. There is no excuse for this behavior and it saddens me that some of the characters that I grew up with and love, were fighting monsters both on screen and on set.

The difference between Joss Whedon and Louis CK is that Whedon actually made things that I enjoyed, while Louis CK I never thought was funny. I always thought he was an asshole. 20 years ago I had no idea Whedon was the dick he’s now coming out to be and I was enjoying the TV shows and movies he made.

But why does everyone pick and choose who gets a reckoning and who gets to walk? Everyone in Hollywood still adores Woody Allen, though he most likely molested his daughter. And no one in the music industry has condemned Michael Jackson, even though it is now known that he was a pedophile.

Yeah, except that he hasn’t actually made even a half-assed apology attempt yet, has he?  And, the fact that his whole professional identity was so tied to feminist ideals might alter that story arc (?).  Hard to say.

Louis CK had a redemption arc? Was it before or after his distinctly incel-ish club appearances where he was all whining about how unfair cancel culture is?

So your main takeaway from her post is that she writes funny, not that there was some (at the least) creepy shit going on that they had to make a rule like that in the first place? She was like 14 years old.

A) this is one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood. Everyone knows who Joss is but everyone still wanted a paycheck. Everyone in the industry knew about Bill, Harvey, Kevin; we knew about them all. Our voices were ignored
