If it isn’t, that means a President can get away with literally anything in the last few days or weeks of his term and suffer no repercussions unless he is prosecuted for it through the courts, and many GOP members subscribe to the Unitary Executive theory which they have interpreted as “if the President does it, it

Nothing ever sticks to this guy.

“She also explained that her choice for the theme stemmed from a mural at the school that says “Where Every Child Matters.” I just feel like all the principal had to do was drop the “where” from the slogan and she would’ve likely avoided having the whole school looking at her sideways.”

they literally cannot wait to give the house, senate, and presidency back to republicans.

TRUEFAX.

Look. I’m with Mr. Crockett here.

Here is the one problem with your take on this. You (1 voter) may be ok with Democrats waffling on their promises simply because they are better than the Republicans, but many of Trump’s voters were disaffected Obama voters. In other words, they saw that the Democrats were just talk and no action, so they thought

He literally ran on “considering working with Republicans”!

No they don’t.” - GOP

Christy! Baby, what is you doin’?

I want to apologize for upsetting you in this fashion as I’m not writing for personal need, I’m writing for those who don’t have the platform that I do. Also, and this is important, I don’t see politicians as my friends. I see them as elected officials who were put in office to do the work of the people. I think you

At this point, I will believe it when I see it, but I’m getting tired of hearing about all the ways that the President Biden is considering working with Republicans who didn’t give a fuck about us when they had power.

Trump and the GOP already lost two elections over this issue back to back. Amazing to see the Democrats plunge head first into the trifecta.

Biden—after meeting Tuesday with 10 Republicans, who only want to give money, tax breaks and incentives to their wealthy friends, proposed the idea of targeting the checks to those who “really” need it—is now actually considering this bullshit.

Same, I always figured it’d be $2000 total, $600 then, $1400 later. Honestly the part that is hanging me up at this point is the “if you vote this way the checks will go out the door,” pseudo-promise that we’d get them pretty much right away. Not a month or two later.

I don’t think $2000 for each single person is too ambitious. I think Canada did it through the months of their lockdown and I think the US is wealthier. I think we could have at least done as well as Canada if we could just get the hell out of our own way.

Agreed.

Our governor is trying to promise a $5,000 PFD to secure a second term. Legislators and economist who know we’re in a recession are like “You buggin.” The last time we had a check that high was Palin so people would vote for her and that was only $2100 ( the second highest is history). Promising $2K to every

I agree with all of this, may be semantics but not once did any of them say  “we will make sure to send 1,400 checks so the american people will get a total of 2000" they certainly made it appear that 2000 checks would go out and now that he is negotiating and under the GOP they only want to send 1000 checks to even

This again? I thought the consensus was that the Dems really meant $2000 total all along, and that the first $600 was always meant to be part of the deal so the $1400 checks being promised now add up to $2000. And when people asked why they didn’t just say that all along, they were told not to complain because somethin
