Neat truck, and I’m glad it exists, but that’s not my overwhelming sentiment after reading it. That would be: I can’t believe that midsize trucks are 5,000 lbs now. What the hell happened?

Your title sucks. Any truck or car can fly. My 18 year old self proved that. The question is “can it fly TWICE.”
Chevy’s representatives would like me to say “no” because the Raptor is objectively superior by most measures. It’s also a lot more expensive, thirsty, physically large and aesthetically obnoxious.
I don’t know man. It really feels like Chevy is trying to Polish a turd here. It’s key feature is shocks. Shocks! I’d rather buy the truck I want and get some awesome long travel setup. You can’t really change the ride height on this truck because the spoolmaticwhosawhatsit is position dependent. So it’s a jack…
Ford has won in way more series and far more types of vehicles than Porsche or Ferrari combined.
So I am not sure how “It’s just a Ford” argument has any weight.
Ford’s racing pedigree is huge .... the company was BUILT on racing.
(Ever heard of the 999?)
Just because you remember Ford as an underpowered Pinto in your…
Have you ever actually laid eyes on the Coyote V8? It is massive. Would never have fit in this engine bay. Aerodynamics, Overall Performance, and Lap times. All were considered more important than cylinder count. People who keep complaining about cylinder count... Where were the ‘vettes last year at LeMans? I…
That’s just a stupid thing to say.
With Ford’s racing pedigree, especially around the GT and GT40 name, I can unequivocally say that the “Ford” argument is bullshit. In fact, it is one of the most celebrated cars in racing and the previous car with its insane value now is proof of that.
They were simply the engines Ford thought best would compete well at Le Mans. This car is a truer homage to the original than the previous generation in that respect. Designed for the track first, showroom second. Not the other way around.
If you care what the other car owners think, this is not the car for you. Especially when they are behind you.
It’s not absurd at all from Ford, because they have twice in Automotive history created a product that bested the best. and if a badge is stopping you from paying what a car is worth.. well then, it’s not for you.
This is still a Ford and will be viewed as such by not only competing companies, but by interested buyers.
Let’s just address price. This car was designed as a no compromise race car FIRST. Homologated road car second. The price is indicative of that. Goal one was to win class at Le Mans. The car they ended up with while doing that is the one they’ve homologated into a road car that just happens to cost half a million…
Any Interstate that goes through Ohio. Because fuck Ohio.
I refuse to drive anywhere near NYC, the boroughs, or Long Island. NOTHING could motivate me to go there.
I like exposed fasteners, moar race car feel!
