Since it’s a peltier device, you don’t need to put it in the flow of the exhaust. you can literally put it on the outside of the exhaust and it’ll generate electricity off of how hot the damn exhaust is.

I mean... they don’t HAVE to do it like this... They just do it like this (hand washing/scrubbing with no tools to extended reach) for higher billable hours...

The charging rate is directly related to battery size, so the charging speed is mostly just because of the big battery pack in the car... This is exactly why cars with large battery packs are cars with the highest peak charging rates, and how the Tesla Semi can charge with the megawatt charger at 1000 kW...
