I never thought I needed ACC until I had it.

Speed of reaction, Deflagration. Gasoline isn’t nearly as reactive as gunpowder per unit time.
Years ago a guy I worked with wanted to pay cash for a new Acrua, but if he had he would have missed some money that was tied to the financing. He checked to make sure that he could pay off he loan early with no penalty, and did so after, I think, 60 days. It all depends upon the situation.
I mean other than the price point...I think it qualifies.
You don’t have to convince me! I show her similar runners to yours pretty often and she hasn’t come around yet. She says one day she may get one, but not now. She still requires a manual transmission and likes the top and doors off while commuting and off roading on the weekends. The wheelbase isn’t the biggest deal…
Stand Your Real Estate laws. Lesser-known that it’s personal risk cousin, but no less important.
Certain safety features not only keep me much safer but also force me to stay extremely attentive like Audi’s Adaptive Cruise Control.
2-phase power? What is it, the late 1800s?
Wait, so they were “visiting a friend” when they noticed they were out of juice, and their friend wouldn’t let them leave the car there to charge?
I think there is another big factor here and that is income security. My brother in law and his wife have alot of monthly payments, but all of those are based on his job security as a government employee with a pension guaranteed by the state constitution, and family health care.
The biggest expense of car ownership isn’t interest, it’s depreciation.
Well, yes and no. While I currently have a chunk in savings at 2.1% as a “safe investment”, would I be better in some structured bond fund that might get me 2% annual yield? And have costs associated with it? The only way investing is better is if you are willing to put it into action against funds or stocks that you…
Neutral: Of course not. AV’s can’t prevent damage from weather(hail/water), it also can’t prevent all weather related crashes(black ice, deep snow). Lastly, an AV will always be limited by its tires. If a deer jumps out onto the highway, there is a slim chance of avoiding it while doing 70-85mph.
You can use credit reasonably, too.
“0% interest is basically free money! You’d be stupid not to take it!”
Here is how you decide whether to pay in cash or finance:
“If you can’t pay cash, don’t buy it” is still solid financial advice,
“If you can’t pay cash, don’t buy it” is still solid financial advice, but just because you can pay cash doesn’t mean that you should. You need to look at opportunity cost, and that doesn’t always mean being able to beat the interest rate with investments. There is value in having cash available even if you ultimately…
Having the car free and clear is the rainy day fund. It means that you aren’t going to become unemployed because suddenly the bank has repoed your car, and it means that if absolute worst comes to worst, you can sell the car and get a little cash back without the bank automatically taking it all.
Love it or hate it, you’ve got to admit that the Model 3 (or any of Tesla’s lineup) does a pretty great job at hiding most of the sensors
