Disparage means to regard as having little worth or equate to worthless... Telling motorists that there are unfavorable road conditions ahead is not worthless and doesn’t deserve your luddite remarks.

The google App is integrated in to the car. You, from a complete stance of ignorance, are disparaging the safety benefits of this app for a Swedish fish of a high horse that is distracted driving from a mapping app.
The Google map app you see in AA is the same one you see on your phone. Same interface. You can’t give AA a free pass with this app and disparage the phone only version.
I hear your point and agree with much of it. However, it is still legal to adjust your radio - how does that apply to AA / Carplay?
I believe this works in Android Auto too - so what about adjusting your ‘radio’ while driving?
I don’t disagree that a standard fix is simpler on a more modern car. No contention there.
I drive a compact car (Hyundai Ioniq). I’m built like a fat chimp.
Lets try this a different way.
That’s because we're old and fat. :)
I like having a lower car around all of these SUVs. I can generally see under them to eye what is happening in front of them
Measuring electrons is a thing - but you have to know how to measure them first. Seeing a broken doohickey in 2 pieces is usually more obvious than a gizmo which let the smoke out.
Nah, never owed any cars with carbs. /s
I used to design engine electronics - I’m quite familiar with troubleshooting them.
I’ve had my fair share of cars equipped with basically every fuel system - MFI, EFI, Carb, dizzy and direct spark, etc. I would largely agree with you on the reliability standpoint. A modern car works for many more miles than an older car.
Ok, wonderful but I think you’re missing the point.
Exactly. At least she is responsible with her money before her hobby. Pay the bills and savings first before blowing however many thousands on ribbons and doilies for animals that roll around in their own poop.
I suspect some of this has to do with used cars no longer really being ‘shade tree’ accessible - at least on the entry level. 10 years ago a 20 year old car could come with a carburetor. I don’t know of many popular mid-90s+ vehicles that came with carbs.
My wife could no care less what car she is driving. She literally forgot what make her car was and just knew it as an ‘H-something Elantra’. But she can drive a manual since that is what is in the truck that gets her horses to the trails. So she may be a horse enthusiast which has required her to become a manual…
Add me as an internet friend with a 160K+ 2008 Elantra. It’s my wife’s car and we are just waiting for it to die before getting her a new ride. That said - it doesn’t look like it’ll die any time soon.
If the Rivian doesn’t come out on time Dad will probably get one of these. His commute in to the local grocery store is ~7 miles of back roads one way.
