Maybe a nod to players who stuck with the game instead of ditching it prematurely.

No shame in taking a break, dialing it back to play other games and just feel like life is a thing you participate in. We’ll all be back as soon as the next DLC or event like Festival of the Lost pops up. :)
I haven’t played Call of Duty in a while, but wouldn’t it be worth comparing Activision’s microtransaction history with that franchise to look for guidance on where Destiny may go?
It’s actually really fun, especially when playing with friends. It’s like Destiny’s Trials of Osiris, but with goofy cars and a soccer ball.
Is this the same thing as “that band only my friends and I liked got popular and now we hate them”? It sure seems like it.
I get the feeling "better resolution" is a catchall term that encompasses resolution, fidelity, fps, and more.
Was it Space Base 2000? I got that when I was a kid and still have it. Just looked through it again the other day. It's awesome.
Nope, I genuinely love it, play it daily, and own the disc. Somehow, I'm not even stupid or a glutton for punishment because of that! :D
You seem to be the only person in the comments so far that understands this is something beyond mere downsizing. Marty isn't some low-level animator or an intern, so there's definitely something else going on. I wonder if it has anything to do with Activision's dealings with Bungie or if the development of Destiny…
It sounds great. My fear is that the servers do not work Day 1 or randomly later on. Developers woefully underestimate demand at game launches and we end up with things like Gears of War 2, Diablo 3 or SimCity. Xbox Live may be just as susceptible to being overloaded or flat out not working as intended once the X1…
Wouldn't they just flip it over to be an Assassin's Creed 4 bundle now?
True, but The Division will probably launch closer to the end of the calendar year to tie in with the narrative involving Black Friday, I'd bet.
Well, Destiny does have a large single-player story component...it's just completely mingled with matchmaking for random team-ups with other players (and intentional ones w/ friends).
This is exactly why I'm really looking forward to games like Destiny and The Division. Even the multiplayer in COD feels like it's restricted to 3 corridors to quickscope each other from....it's become stupid.
