Two characters did leave at that point and at least one more was more than mildly troubled by it. The others were all drugged up and had established character flaws that made their sticking around justified (well at least as far as horror movies go.) And besides leaving was a bad move anyway. It didn’t turn out well

Yeah, it’s a great movie but the “BEST HORROR MOVIE EVER” reviews didn’t do it any good.

There’s not really a lot of gore but what is there is definitely sudden and disgusting.

Well, they were all drugged up pretty heavily by that point so their cluelessness isn’t totally crazy. But yeah, the comedy was a trip. I don’t think I’ve seen a horror-comedy that’s as funny or as horrifying as Midsommar.
