Non-sequitor. A few individuals electing to voluntarily donate more to the government won’t do anything and you know it. A poor attempt at deflecting.

Mountain Dew or crab juice. DECIDE!

COTD for me. Also, I feel stupider after watching that video.

Well,...I’m in the minority (?) who always liked the looks of the original KL. I am a little surprised just how many people seem to hate the original styling, though I can see why it is polarizing.

Seattle’s gone crazy. A friend of mine works for Boeing and he’s pretty much resigned to never owning a home as long as he lives there.

How are the home prices in AZ right now? Are they going back up? Here in Vegas (and Reno) they’ve been climbing like crazy (probably due to so many people relocating from SoCal), reaching nearly the same levels as right before the crash of ‘08. I bought a house in 2010 when it bottomed out, so I’m good, but I’m

As a Las Vegas resident who grew up in the midwest, I will say that summertime electric bills in the desert do suck (mine is usually over $200/month from June-August), but the flip side is we pay almost nothing in wintertime. I’m scrooge-like with the furnance and have yet to turn mine on this year. My last gas bill

Las Vegas resident here who used to own a convertible and I can say I will never own one again. Even when it wasn’t horrifically hot, it still didn’t feel good riding with the top down due to the intense sun, unless it was already near sundown. A very limited window of good top-down driving time per day (same thing

I disagree. Despite the differences in power and weight, the RWD 2+2 market isn’t very crowded, and lots of people (such as myself) cross-shopped the two cars.

I own a ‘16 ecoboost Mustang (which I love), but the rear seats are only useful for cargo or maybe kids. Other than that, they’re a nightmare for anyone to get into, and anyone much over 5 feet tall is going to be bumping their head on the rear windshield. The back seat is to be used by adults in emergencies only.

For a second I read your comment as “not square wheels, though.” Canadian trucks for the win!

I would rather have that blue & white C series. I don’t need or want a luxury 4-door truck, and that new one (as shown in these pictures) looks really weirdly proportioned. With that lift and new body parts, the wheels and tires look tiny.

BA & Virgin still fly 747s from Las Vegas to the UK on a weekly basis.

I live in Las Vegas where we have a nice viewing area of McCarran airport right next to the runways. Virgin & BA routinely fly 747s in and out, and when I watch them take off I notice that they seem to take much less runway than all of the much smaller aircraft. And yes, due to their size they look like they’re almost

FYI the insurance company my friend is dealing with (the insurer of the guy who hit him) is Geico. He said his lawyers were stunned when Geico didn’t accept their settlement offer, for whatever that’s worth.

You think the insurance company isn’t fighting tooth-and-nail against paying a fair settlement? Because that’s what they generally do. Anecdotal, but a co-worker was involved in a rather horrific car wreck 2 years ago (not his fault) and he (and his lawyers) are still wrangling for a reasonable settlement that will

Yeah, as someone who bought a Ford last year I concur that they probably get pretty good discounts thrown at them. Still a ton of money, though. To each his own, of course. Probably not how I would spend that much cash, but it’s not a dilemma I will likely ever have to deal with!

Indeed. I like Kristen, but I have no idea where she pulled the basis for that “underrated” statement from.

I remember reading a while back that a top-spec F-350 (or maybe F-450...can’t remember) with every single option checked topped out at nearly 6 figures. To each his own, I suppose. I wonder how there are so many people who can buy these luxo-SUVs or supercars for that matter. Must be nice!

We might be in another asset bubble, but it won’t be anywhere near as catastrophic when this one bursts compared to 2008. As others have pointed out, cars cost a fraction of what houses do. More importantly, cars can be repossessed rather easily.
