Everyone seemed eerily calm after the impact. I suppose we can chalk that up to Swedish introversion (?).

Don’t get me wrong, it was a pay bump from my previous job. Also, I moved to an area of the country I wanted to live (as opposed to where I was at the time, which I did not like living in). Trust me, I negotiated as much as I could. But at the end of the day it was the best deal I could get to move where I wanted. I…
Did you say “velour”? They call me The Velour Fog.
They also call me “The Man with No Name”. Zapp Brannigan, at your service.
I have found in my engineering career that working for a startup usually involves lots of lofty promises about the future while being told to “sacrifice” for the team in the short term in the form of average or below salaries, below average benefits and working on a shoe-string budget. I made the mistake of staying on…
I’m pretty sure there’s a hole (ahem - “construction site”) in the desert just north of Las Vegas where you can deposit your money. Small denominations, please.
I think it’s understandable. It is difficult to tell where one begins and the other ends, especially given that (someone correct me if I’m wrong) 1) FF is completely funded by Jia Yueting using his LeEco money 2) FF still has no CEO (and a revolving door of management) and 3) LeEco’s other Chinese car company (forget…
I would also include the engineers and other R&D personnel with the “rank and file”. From what I can tell, their core engineering group appears to have their shit together. I hope they all have their resumes updated.
Given his *ahem* “questionable” decision-making skills, I wonder how Jia Yueting (and people like him) became a billionaire. Luck?
I wonder how I go about getting a job at The Federalist? Surely, it cant’ be hard. Most 8th graders could probably write better than this.
Don’t forget mothballs in the fuel tank. Add those to your homemade Multi-Shart and you should actually be creating gasoline as you drive down the road.
I agree the Pacifica looks solid, but now that the 200 is done what else do they have besides the aging 300? I can’t think of any other vehicles with the chrysler badge at the moment.
I know this is totally anecdotal, but my dad and stepmom have owned 5 chrysler corp vehicles (including 3 minivans for some reason) over the last 25ish years and they’ve all been very reliable.
“...my local Kijiji (Canada’s Craiglist, that’s owned by eBay)“
This is not a series of words I ever expected to read. I wonder where they came up with that name?
It doesn’t matter if he straight up stole from them. Theft is theft.
They did do it robotically and it worked brilliantly, IIRC. The problem was that nobody used it. Apparently, people weren’t comfortable with the idea of dropping off and swapping out their car’s battery pack even though I think they got their original pack back on the return trip (someone correct me if I’m wrong).…
I’m sure it will be. With the quoted range figures, I don’t see why anyone would charge their car anywhere but home except for out of town trips.
Indeed. I just bought a Mustang (which I love), but the next (probably used) car I buy to replace my aging commute beater will most likely have 4 (or 5) doors. I have two 2-door cars right now and getting into and out of them in my garage is a PITA. 2 door cars don’t make too much sense anymore (outside of some iconic…
Sigh, here we go again. Firstly, you have no idea if he was already planning on buying a different car to replace his old one so that’s a moot point. Secondly, electric motors are around twice as efficient as internal combustion engines at turning potential energy into kinetic. 3rd of all, yes we still get way too…
“Are people that soft (pun intended) that they need a metal roof over their head?” Obvious implication (via rhetorical question) that we (people who don’t care for soft tops) are “soft”. Please don’t insult my intelligence further with the ridiculous implication that you “didn’t label”. But whatever works for you,…
And at what point will you consider the technology “proven”? EVs have advanced quite a bit in a short span of time. Electric motors are much more reliable than ICEs, and you also ditch quite a few auxiliary systems. If anything, I’d say this push into switching government fleets into newer tech is long overdue.
