“the adult animation business still has a lot of growing up to do.”
Thanks. That makes sense!
Who’s to say that we are not operating at a current inefficiency? So much attention is given to the pure income dollars of something like this, but the real issue is where that $16 billion disappears from. Any economist understands the law of diminishing marginal utility. $8 billion in the pockets of those below…
Owners/bosses are not job creators, demand/consumers are job creators.
I’m just gonna go ahead and say that Bernie should do what he should’ve done before he announced his 2020 candidacy (his 2016 run was fine—and necessary): Step aside for Warren, and be the elder statesman he’s earned the right to be.
Not everyone needs to be President. Shit, President isn’t even the strongest office in…
My feeling is that she’s not so much lagging as on a slow burn. Apollo rockets, as I saw recently in the absolutely gorgeous footage from the new Apollo 11 documentary (65 mm Panavision!), start off very slowly, then gradually achieve breathtaking speeds that take them on long, successful journeys.
I’ve done every one of these, except I hit the car shooting out of the alley, turning my front wheel into a D, and making it hard to walk for a week, as the forward motion of the bike abruptly stopped and transferred into upward motion of the seat.
I guess I’ll share my two cents even though im in the gray and this discussion is tedious. Look no further than the comments here to see how passionately drivers feel about the issue.
this a million times
I dunno.. Exercize? Save gas? Look good in tight shorts? Really doesn’t matter. And since pedestrians are even smaller, harder to see, and rarely wear lights, they are even more at risk when stepping out into the realm of the car.
I’ve been a commuting cyclist in Chicago for over a decade. I’ve been hit a few times and had 2-3x as many close calls. I pass ghost bikes (white-painted memorials for cyclists murdered on the city’s streets) daily and it never gets any less haunting. What makes me ache even more about every preventable death…
I hear this argument all the time, and there is absolutely no data to back it up. “Idaho stops” have been shown to be not only safer, but more efficient. I’m not going to deny that there are some stupid fucking cyclists out there (the neon-lit pedicab that ran a red light last night to get on the Edens Expressway for…

How about you stop driving a car.
Motorcyclist here. Ban cars.
Bikes don’t kill people. Cars do.
It’s extremely rare that a cyclist puts anyone in danger by not being “experienced in driving in traffic.” It’s even more rare that a cyclist would put anyone besides themselves in danger by doing so. On the other hand, car drivers are piloting around several tons of metal at very high speeds, so when they fuck up…
yes, there’s very fine people on both sides
NCC...is a troll. I have gotten hip to their schticks here on Splinter....Baracka is one too but I think they changed their handle recently...
Maybe Chris Matthews would be a better person today if he had only moved to the west coast to live with his Uncle and Aunt in Bel Air.
