I’ve already dismissed a few assholes who have come back with the “Oh yeah? Well, she didn’t offer anything for me to vote for”

So basically, flipping state level seats is more important than anything now, and we have to fight 20x as hard to do it. Hard to imagine a Merrick Garland and possible other Hillary appointed judge would’ve come to the same conclusions. Might be important to vote on 2020.

So, once again, the result of the people who voted 3rd party or stayed home in protest in 2016, is a SCOTUS decision that destroys a fundamental tenant of democracy for decades to come.

“that does not mean the solution lies with the federal judiciary”

This really shouldn’t have been a surprise to anyone. The bottom line is that we can’t rely on a Republican-hijacked Supreme Court to save us - not until we take it back somehow, but even then, we should also be focusing on what else we can do about this. Elizabeth Warren’s proposed plan to have Congress pass

“Of all times to abandon the Court’s duty to declare the law, this was not the one. The practices challenged in these cases imperil our system of government. Part of the Court’s role in that system is to defend its foundations. None is more important than free and fair elections. With respect but deep sadness, I

But also remember, totally fair to accuse AOC of wanting to turn America into Venezuela or Stalinist Russia because *checks notes* she has a platform that looks like the New Deal.

Yeah, has she never heard of child endangerment or anti-suicide laws? This level of stupidity is horrifying and totally on brand for this era of regression.

But one day we will come for them.

“that tweet was not about Elizabeth Warren at all. Not at all. Elizabeth is a friend of mine, and we’re going to run what I hope are issue-oriented campaigns.”

Why don’t we call voting for Biden in the General Election “Plan B.”

People refusing to vote for Hillary worked out marvelously too.

Not to be a prophet, but I’ve been saying this all along. Give Biden enough time and he’ll sink his own campaign with asinine observations and silly comments.

The story was pitched as “heartwarming,”

Always relevant:

When in doubt, I defer to the people who know

I WISH THERE WAS SOME KIND OF UNIFYING ISSUE THAT SAYS “HEY, THIS SHIT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND IMMORAL, AND TRANSCENDS PARTY LINES.” OH YEAH, IT’S CALLED IMPEACHMENT PROCEEDINGS.

And as much as you may like to say that this is a course of action the House is obligated to undertake regardless of the consequences, that’s the kind of thing people only say when they haven’t given much thought to how dire the consequences may be.

“At this point, not pressing for a harder line and just letting Trump continue to walk all over them is looking increasingly pathetic.”

This is the salient point I think the usual anti-impeachment crowd here seems to miss over and over. It’s not good when you look weak. We can discuss until the cows come home about
