Then again, she thinks ICE should exist.
Is anyone seriously considering striking? And that they aren’t considering it isn’t the point. They SHOULD consider it.
Regular people are already being affected. The GOP outside of Trump would cave in immediately once the the non-regular people, aka their donors, are affected. TSA and ATCer’s walking off the job, and grounding the country’s entire air fleet would certainly do the trick.
There are no “both sides”. We wouldn’t be in a shutdown if Trump hadn’t had a hissy fit because Coulter and Limbaugh were mean to him. This is on Trump and McConnell period.
Hannity is that you?
First of all, an air traffic controller is NOT a 100% protected, low effort, low skill job. Secondly genius, good luck hiring hundreds of thousands of people to replace all those federal workers for free since they wouldn’t get paid either because of the shutdown.
No shit...the House has passed one. McConnell won’t take it up because Trump won’t sign it. Striking would either force him to do so, or force Mitch to vote and override Trump’s veto.
If every federal employee walked out the GOP would have no choice but to re-open the governmet. Get out the picket signs and put an end to the shutdown!
My father, also an air traffic controller, would agree to a strike given many of the things they fought for (better equipment, safety standards etc) were implemented after the PATCO controllers were fired.
No...he lied then too. He could shoot multiple people on 5th Avenue and not loose any supporters.
At this point Trump could hold a rally, admit everything, and the GOP cowards in congress and the MAGA morons would still support him.
It actually makes sense they’d bring the Trump 2020 sign, totally outside of racial context, if they knew the other team was protesting the anthem.
Dude...you really need to pay attention to what I’m responding to in the thread. This is what you suggested oh so many replies ago:
I never once alluded to the fact that airport funding comes from the feds. I was saying that if TSA workers and ATCers stayed home the shutdown would end very quickly. You brought up privatizing airports, which don’t pay either TSA workers or ATCers. Both of which are paid for by federal funds.
What are you talking about? From the link you posted...
If the airports themselves were private, they would fund them directly with the revenue generated by the airport.
Every TSA agent and air traffic controller should stay home until the shutdown is over. Good luck tying to get a wall when every plane in the US is on the ground.
And why exactly would employees from a private firm, or the private firm itself, keep working if they weren’t getting paid? Not to mention the utter stupidity of turning these agencies into for profit motivated entities instead of existing to ensure safety.
