At this point Trump could hold a rally, admit everything, and the GOP cowards in congress and the MAGA morons would still support him.

It actually makes sense they’d bring the Trump 2020 sign, totally outside of racial context, if they knew the other team was protesting the anthem.

Dude...you really need to pay attention to what I’m responding to in the thread. This is what you suggested oh so many replies ago:

I never once alluded to the fact that airport funding comes from the feds. I was saying that if TSA workers and ATCers stayed home the shutdown would end very quickly. You brought up privatizing airports, which don’t pay either TSA workers or ATCers. Both of which are paid for by federal funds.

What are you talking about? From the link you posted...

If the airports themselves were private, they would fund them directly with the revenue generated by the airport.

Every TSA agent and air traffic controller should stay home until the shutdown is over.  Good luck tying to get a wall when every plane in the US is on the ground.

And why exactly would employees from a private firm, or the private firm itself, keep working if they weren’t getting paid? Not to mention the utter stupidity of turning these agencies into for profit motivated entities instead of existing to ensure safety.

Get there plenty early.  Lines will probably be pretty long.

The fastest way to end this absurdity would be for every single TSA agent and air traffic controller to stay home. Good luck screaming about useless wall when all air travel in the US grinds to a halt.

Quick!  Someone buy the closest billboard to this asshat’s house and put the painting on it.

To get you started Beto...

Agencies already work together every day: Local agencies coordinate with State agencies who coordinate with Federal agencies, and every combination in between.

But ICE under Obama was worse than INS would have been.

Well for starters there would be jurisdiction problems. Then there’s capability issues when it comes to things like manpower and budgets. Plus the I’m sure the politics of multiple local agencies working together would cause no issues./s

Well, legislating out people like Hoover stopped the power from being held in the hands of one corrupt individual for too long. But it didn’t change the bad behavior his FBI engaged in.

I’ve been in the broadcast industry for over 15 years, and everyone I’ve worked for has the same paralyzing fear of pissing of a viewer no matter how much it hurts their own credibility.

So legislating 10 year term limits for the FBI director didn’t do anything to mitigate the kind of corruption and power consolidation that Hoover perpetrated over his 48 years in the position?

But institutional culture won’t change just because a new institution charged with the same function but with a different name takes over. The culture will only change when people are voted into office who will legislate the change. Not the knee-jerk reaction to abolish something without considering whether that could
