To play devil’s advocate, Platinum has been developing on Nintendo hardware for like the last ten years. I would trust Platinum to do a port of a modern game to the Switch, I dont know about Square Enix’s ability.

Even when Microsoft bought Rare, Nintendo had to buy part of the I.Ps that they had sharred ownership with. I belive Rare owned Diddky Kong. Microsoft or Sony buying SRD would be a huge mess. 

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 feels like a JRPG parody. It has a Gatcha system with out Micro transactions, over sexualized characters but for men and women. The blades are like pokemon/digimon and all of the villains are Final fantasy edge lords designed by Tetsuya Nomura.

I feel like Glitches in Pokemon make the game better. Pokemon red and blue is better then yellow because of the missingo glitch. Gold and silver are better then Crystal because of the pokemon duplication glitch.

Except the E- Reader Nintendo developed for pokemon and used for other games. The N64 transfer pack for Pokemon stadium. The NFC device in wii u and New 3ds was for pokemon rumble before smash bros
