The Shepherd's Dog is such a great album…
I got a little choked up a couple of years ago when Mike Myers and Dana Carvey did that 'Wayne's World at the Oscars' sketch on SNL and heard the Phil Hartmann WW intro. "You are watching Cable 10, Aurora, Illinois, community access channel." Man…
The Who's 1st farewell tour was 32 years ago. The Clash was the opening act. Just sayin'.
See my above reference to Ebert's reviews.
(And I'll amend my question and limit it to major twists and endings.)
I was underwhelmed when "Spoonman" was released as the first single, and "Black Hole Sun" has lost a good chunk of its sway over me in the years since. But "My Wave", "Fell On Black Days", "Mailman", "The Day I Tried to Live", "4th of July" and "Like Suicide"kick my ass on a regular basis. Still. 20 years later. Damn.
I might have to concur. Dark and apocalyptic, probably the most metal thing on the album, along with "Mailman".
Likewise. But if Badmotorfinger had as solid production as Superunknown, that contest would be brutal.
Bands like those you cite above—you might want to add Cinderella and Enuff z Nuff, etc—who suffered the neglect of the '90s crowd, fell victim to the 'guilt by association' tag. BUT…while they weren't technically cock rock/hair bands, they didn't distance themselves from the Winger/Warrant/Poison contingent and their…
"Guns-N-Roses is the band that made it obvious how bad all those other bands sucked."
"I can't see why everyone thinks Van Halen is so fucking awesome. By the time I got around to their back catalog, they had inspired 100's of similar bands who I had seen on MTV for years."
Hmm…I also hear a little "Four Sticks" in there as well.
Had not seen Breaking Bad yet. Thanks, Todd. While you're at it would you like to disclose major plot points, twists, and endings of classic movies from the last 70 years? I mean, they've already been out there for decades, right?
Of course people "value plot above everything else": it's a key factor in deciding to…
"Fallon proves that he could have had a fine career in the genre, had late night not come calling."
Yeah, but the real problem with those films is that while the "stupid childish men finally have to grow up", they shouldn't necessarily "kneel before their girlfriend/wife" who may or may not be "a heaven-sent gift to the stupid slob."
In other words, the guys are losers but the women aren't goddesses, either.
"Where were you when we were being fleeced, SCOTUS??!!"
The point.
Nice.
