Yes, and what everyone is saying is, “acting ability”, “hollywood pretty”, and “international superstar blah blah blah” end up being subtly racist metrics. They become “does she act white enough”, “is she white-pretty enough”, and “will she sell to audiences that expect a white person even in the role of a multiracial…

Yeah, not to mention that no one has asked these directors to be this exacting. They’re just proposing what they believe to be an alternate extreme, so they can make the obvious and simple solutions sound unrealistic.
