I remember reading about the whole dickwolves nonsense a while back, and I’m pretty sure they went even further than that second strip and made dickwolves shirts that they sold online or at their con specifically to antagonize people complaining about the strip. 

Their reaction was nowhere near as mature as you imply... here’s an example of why people took issue with them.

Tis is the thing that gets me. 8 year olds in gen 1 got to move rocks around victory road and remember that ghosts aren’t actually super effective against psychic despite what the game told you. Gen2 newbies had to go through ice mazes and keeping track of 8? HMs. Gen3 folks had braille puzzles.

I’m okay with these games being made primarily for kids. What frustrates me is that these games are made with the assumption that kids today are morons who are bad at video games.

that’s definitely the way to do it. alternatively they could do like Nintendo and cancel the project when it leaks and then deny it ever existed like they did with the live-action Legend of Zelda show on Netflix.
