I agree there is nothing wrong with it - I don’t mean to sound prudish. But it does seem at times that empowerment (if you’ll forgive the word) is now reduced to such displays. It would be nice to see the energy and the confidence asserted into other dimensions of identity.

I’m not sure why you closed on a note of such hostility. Yes I did make an assumption based on your post; I should not have done so. I have no great affinity for Caitlyn Jenner and her stupid awards, but I thought the joke was insensitive nonetheless.

But the joke wasn’t about them being fame chasers - it was quite specifically about Cait being transgender.

If folks in that community found it offensive, I'm not sure it's your place to say otherwise.
