My daughter is almost 6 and I tell her the same thing (and have since she was 2.) I give her a few stuffed princess dolls and tell her to stay up as long as she wants as long as she stays in bed and stays quiet I don’t care.

What if I have Facebook and what you said is also true?
It’s almost as if OJ isn’t the issue at all in this article and instead is the pedantic and belittling writing used as a hook. It certainly paints a picture of black folk who don’t actually want to get along with white people (which is what the racist white folk have been using as a justification for centuries.)
White people don’t care about OJ contrary to Michael’s apparent deep understanding of white people.
But nobody I know is angry about this and I have in laws and parents who are 60+ (and I’m white and grew up in the Deep South.) OJ got off because he was rich, which is the one factor that trumps race in our justice system. Even racist white folk know that much.
I’m a white guy, living in the South, who votes Republican (except Trump) and I’m not in the slightest bit outraged over this. The justice system might “favor” white people, but it disproportionately favors wealthy people, regardless of skin color. OJ hired the best and we saw what the best can buy you. When the…
Then why do blue states want to keep the taxes higher then? If they want it, why not give it to them?
Darn- I was hoping to read about a literal turd being buried. Like some little turtle head during the SOTU.
Wut? White people are fungible in European based stories, hell half of us don’t actually know where we originated from.
LOL, cities. Half of suburban Atlanta doesn’t live in an actual city limit so unless I expect the county to start mandating these things I’m going to have to rely on an HOA.
Well that’s your loss mr. the salad, because plenty of HOA’s are minor. Mine makes sure your house is painted and lawn maintained and that’s about it. You want rusty jeeps, as long as you keep it in the lines of your house (in the backyard) or put up a privacy fence, we don’t care. And our homes are in the $500k range…
Good grief- in Atlanta we typically see in the 60-100/month range.
HOA’s are in use anywhere there’s not a natural value to the property i.e. suburbs. If you don’t have an HOA in your neighborhood then it only takes one person to start the downward spiral and everyone with means goes to the next nice neighborhood.
You’re a renter. I assure you, nearly everyone in the neighborhood had some level of contempt for you, especially if you didn’t keep your exterior maintained (beyond what the owner was responsible for.)
Your home should absolutely be considered an investment, just not a speculative investment. You shouldn’t go in intending to make money, but to plan for your future, especially given how high rent is in most places. I’ll have my home paid off before I’m 60, then I’ll a much lower outlay of funds on a monthly basis AND…
My HOA dues are $700/year and it covers common area maintenance/insurance along with pool and tennis court maintenance. That alone is worth $700 to me, keeping my neighbor from keeping his vehicle off of blocks on the front lawn is just extra.
Not everybody lives in high density urban living where demand is the highest pricing factor. Your value is high because a lot of people want to live there and there’s not a lot of space to go around, not because you’ve figured out some magical formula to maintain property values.
It was a catch. It was not a touchdown, but it was a valid catch.
It was so obviously NOT a touchdown and so obviously WAS a catch. He had control of the ball when his knee hit the turf at the 1 yard line. Should have been placed at the half yard line.
I think there are far fewer whites who embrace it than gets shown in the media. It’s good viewing numbers to stoke the fire, so they do.
Annecdotally, my 60 year old father, born and raised in the South, voted Republican his whole life, rolled his eyes at all of the “issues” with Georgia changing their flag. As he said…
