Same! It's been an unintended result for me: I've become a much better and more confident cook. After awhile the formula of many of the recipes became apparent, and I've been mish-mashing the recipes together like you have. Occasionally I get suckered back in when they send a big discount code, but I've been having

I get it. I feel that way about movies. Not TV though, probably because I can fool myself into thinking that I’ll only watch one episode. 45 mins is OK to “waste” but 2+ hours is too much of a commitment. It makes little sense.

Me too! Except it was to see JCM reprise the role. Totally worth the trip!

I recommend doing some research as to why blackface is considered offensive. It’s not just wearing makeup; there’s a lot of nasty historical baggage tied to it.

It’s not uncommon in software development. Or even 10-7, or 9-3 then a few hours remotely at night.

Oh FFS. I saw tape players for sale at both Best Buy and Target just two weeks ago.

Dollars to donuts he majored in Monogrammed Coffee Thermosry.

Can I save this and use it as a canned response? With credit given, of course :-) Perfectly stated.

Me too! Guy handed me a 10, I gave him change, and he turned back and said he’d given me a 20. Stupid naive little me was like “Oh, I’m so sorry!” and gave him his ‘change.’ I was incredibly lucky that my manager happened to be near me when it occurred, and realized what was going on (but we were too busy to deal with

Ah yes. 'Tis a pet peeve of mine :)

You've gotten a lot of suggestions to just talk to A and suggest that she not bring the kid and supposedly she'll see the light, but honestly, I don't see that happening. Someone who would watch their kid throw things at other diners and not bat an eyelash is too far gone. It really doesn't sound like she's one of

That is a pet peeve of mine... :-D

I read that in Zoidberg's voice.

Extra dry skim cappuccinos were the hardest for me. But foamy breves were fun and easy peasy!

Nope. Starbucks does 1 shot in a tall, 2 in both grande and venti for hot drinks. Unless they've changed it since I worked there like 8 years ago. An Americano is an exception; it has 2-3-4, IIRC.

Actually, if you normally order a grande, there is minimal extra sugar and no difference in caffeine in a venti. Same amount of espresso (ripoff!) and because it's skinny, the syrup has artificial sweetener. So the only difference really is more milk and fake sugar. Which is why I always just add a shot to a grande

Ugh. I rarely leave reviews anywhere, but when this happens to little local places I love I just have to. There was a cute little coffee shop I frequented with friends in college. They served the usual coffee shop food: baked goods, sandwiches, as well as quiche. One day I noticed that they had a bad review because

Back when I was a regular Farker, there was an epic hilarious thread posted by a guy in nearly this same predicament, except he was live blogging (Farking?) it.

As a former "gifted kid" who had a lot of academic trouble in college, I can tell you what might be the culprit, because it was for me: never learning how to actually work hard for something until it was too late. For most of my formative years, school just came easy so I didn't learn self-discipline or how to

Some kind of reality show - and the only reason I know this is because my friends and I happened to pass him in downtown Minneapolis while they were filming a few months back.
