Actors aren’t supposed to do that. If he had checked the ammunition himself, he would have had to return the gun to the armorer. It’s the armorer’s job to ensure that the guns are safe to use.

Those are the rules. Repeat: IT WOULD BE A VIOLATION OF SAFETY RULES FOR BALDWIN TO HAVE OPENED THE GUN TO CHECK IT.
