Is there any part of the country where you even have two broadband options of the same speed as an option for a location? Even in the best scenario it still is less a choice and more of a sliding scale of lower speeds.

And yet in gigantic swaths of the country, ISPs have a monopoly and cooperate together preventing expansion into their ‘competitors’ territories. This defeats the entire MARKET FORCES theory. Why is this so hard to understand? Just because you’ve never lived in an internet monopoly zone doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

They’re also a creative endeavors. Creative endeavors inevitably lead to fuck ups and failures.

Looking into the story as well, I thought the same thing, but didn’t want to be the first person to voice that thought. I’ll always give the benefit of the doubt, but the story made it come off like petty airing of dirt rather than actually pointing at predatory behavior.
