Despite the success, I hope the exec(s) responsible for replacing parts amazing score with “contemporary” hits such as Take on Me & Mr Blue Sky are having a terrible day. They can suck shit.

The pilot is very compelling. The song they use to end is perfect. That song has always sucked— but they gave it a reason to exist.

reasonable. I just miss Tabitha!

and my point is Tom chose it. He deserves it both b/c he chose it and karmically he deserves to be miserable.

I hate sympathetic takes on Tom. He fucking sucks. I understand what could lead someone to potentially feel bad for him - his wife asking for an open marriage on their wedding night for example. But don’t make him Shiv’s victim. (Shiv sucks too btw. but in a much more tolerable way IMO).

How incredible Succession is cannot be understated. If only more shows trusted the audience the way Succession does. It shows us only the most vital (and incredibly performed) parts of the story and tells us enough to fill in the gaps.

I was surprised because I honestly thought from the beginning of the series “surely they don’t ALL partake in the cannibalism. certainly not our lovable bunny-butchering Shauna” and here Shauna is snacking on ears and shepherding her teammates down the road of no return.

Important questions:

same. I don’t fully regret watching Daisy Jones and the Six the way I regret watching HIMYM - I think there is more to like here.

I am just not convinced there is a way to employ child performers that doesn’t end in traumatic experience for them they will need to carry with them the rest of their lives.

This dude is a total creep.

When was the last good ol-fashioned pile on? Don’t Worry Darling?

When you lead with “it’s a hit” and then deliver “it’s fine” it always feels worse than it really is. This music is just that - fine. Watching the show, you can believe that some of these songs would be zeitgeist-y even if they aren’t 100% your cup of tea.

This show is a lot of fun to watch, Stellar casting and performance, but I have little faith it will stick the landing [it is on Showtime afterall].

I had super low expectations for Shazam!, but it was a perfectly serviceable Sunday afternoon movie while folding laundry and playing on my phone. I honestly could not tell you what happens other than the family getting Shazam’ed at the end. Then Zachary Levi ruined any residual-Chuck goodwill he had left (and

I like the artifact hunt only b/c you are fully powered and really leaning into the “run and gun” of it all - but i can see how it could feel tedious too.

I am a baby about horror movies, but Scream is the exception. I rewatched the series last year when the Scream (5) was out and I think as a franchise it’s really solid.

What a well balanced way to say “that was some bullshit, wasn’t it? but I dodged a bullet.”

If I was Rian Johnson, I’d keep palling around with my fun famous friends making cool shit in fun places like Glass Onion and Poker Face instead of being beholden to the Mouse and having to interact with the toxic SW fandom. But, I also imagine $$$ plays a big role in decisions like that.

The most interesting question for me is what’s going on with Marcia - she was largely absent last season, but she is clearly getting **something** from Logan and that could be a vulnerability.
