Ok, in what way would an iPad mini NOT be an iPod? I am sure I am not the first person to ask that question...

Don't make guesses about how something works and then draw conclusions from those guesses. You act like a web browser is some kind of magic, and that a virtual machine is some clunky alternative to that magic. A web browser is itself a virtual machine interpreting JavaScript on the fly, but it doesn't have access to…
Some good points there. At the end, though, you talk about your desire for browser based virtual machines, and that's exactly what Flash is. Were you saying we should have a standardized virtual machine that runs in the browser without the need of a plugin? Or did you just want something like flash, but rebuilt from…
Great argument; because no one has even written a shitty iOS or HTML5 app...bulletproof. Also, Apple has no problem with apps written in AIR, they make it into the market all the time (mostly games like Pyramix). That alone should raise some alarms that maybe it wasn't Flash's technology that Apple had a problem…
Adobe AIR: secret flash on iOS and Android
It's funny that you should say that bit about (no pun intended) because their really was no pun involved. Flash is DESIGNED to be "flashy" that's why they named it Flash. That's also why it's not dead. Flash runs on the Actionscript Virtual Machine, which offers hardware acceleration that the Javascript machine (what…
As a person who opposes iOS on ideology: it's not silly, YOU'RE silly!
Ok, who else looked at that image and that it was a boobie at first?
Built that up way too much Giz
Are you kidding? This is the ULTIMATE white elephant gift! I know what I am buying for my office's Secret Santa this year...hahaha..

Does it matter? Stuxnet was installed from a USB hard drive, not over the internet. (unless that drive itself was infected over the internet? Who knows)
Yeah, fuck you io9 for getting me all excited that maybe his shop was open again
Ok, one advantage of the SSD over more RAM that you might have neglected is the increase in battery life. Also, most laptops nowadays are shipping with a pretty generous portion of RAM for most users (not all, of course). So many users might not really see any increase in performance by upgrading from 6GB-8GB or…
I wasn't impressed until I saw that quick shot of bond landing in the train car and straightening himself up and fixing his cuffs: that was an instant of quintessential bond-ishness. Maybe there is hope for the franchise.
Yeah, that's a mac feature. In windows, print screen creates a bitmap of the current screen and loads it into the clipboard. You could hit print screen all day and not notice anything unless you tried to paste your clipboard contents (unless you had a really big screen, and not enough RAM to hold it all or something).
Yeah, but to play devil's advocate: How many times has an axe to the skull been consensual?
No, Darth is right. We should be consistent about what constitutes an act of war; and if we have decided that we are actually going to declare war on Iran, we should do that.
