Ack! That’s worse! I said the door! Not the corner of the DLO.
The only sedans that can keep my attention are those that were designed concurrent with wagon variants...not as a rule, but rather incidentally. There is a circle of hell reserved for people who invite you to play Farmville, and in that circle the only cars available are USA-specific midsize sedans.
I’m actually not very fond of lights as decoration. I like what lights are present to be functional, well-designed and well-placed. In another decade, these faddish signature LED lines are going to be the mark of cheesy ‘10s cars.
What’s more likely to happen is that the LEDs become disconnected. They’re still good LEDs, and one should be able to repair their connection with a soldering iron, but I have a hard enough time just getting to incandescent fog lights on a modern car. I doubt very much that these decorative LEDs are packaged to be…
I honestly think the old car was easier on the eyes...not that either car is easy on the eyes, but you know what I mean.
But...bi-level grille?
I love when the nav screen looks slapped on, but this treatment in the Malibu is non-committal. Its top edge floats, but the dash still comes up and accommodates it like a bloated oak TV cabinet in a midwestern McMansion.
It looks like some kind of leather bean bag crammed into a cubby.
Nope. The concept was better. It makes the production car look like a giant discarded metal back pack.
