EA is just trimming down the initial features to justify upcoming expansions such as:
"The Sims 4: Toddlers"
"The Sims 4: Pools"
"The Sims 4: Toddler Pools"
and of course "The Sims 4: Toddlers Standing Dangerously Close to Pools"

O Please we all know the real reason, so you can buy a base game To release 19 Different DLC that should be in your base game.

You would be justified if it was about some other company which didn't have an incredibly bad record on such things.

You will know after you have bought SimCity at launch last year. They used the same excuses for their always-online DRM (with all the online feature still missing/broken at this moment) and their AI calculation (they said the calculation is 'in the cloud' and people find out they are done locally) and you know what?

They didnt explain shit and it doesnt take a genius to think about marketing ploys. If you think EA is telling the absolute truth with this then youre a very gullible person and havent been gaming long. Otherwise you would know how devious EA is

But this sounds eerily like the same line of BS that they told us about the offline mode for simcity 4 but here we are a few years after the game released and we have an offline mode something they told us would not be possible without completely redoing the game.

Basically, they didn't have time to work on it.

So their reasons are non-reasons. "we didn't put in these things but we put in these other things instead!" even though the new things have nothing to do with the old things and wouldn't exclude them in any way.

Good for you on giving them an excuse to cut out base features because of pure incompetence/laziness/selling it 2 months after release as DLC. It's a standard feature in the first game, 15 years ago, but somehow it's not a priority for release anymore?

It's not some "new tech" that fell from the sky or that was scavenged from deceased aliens. It's their own tech. They know that the games have pools. They weren't surprised, like "oh shit, this new tech is awesome, but it can't handle pools too well...". They made the tech. Is it normal for someone to develop an

Everyone hates this. Everyone knows the real reason. Everyone will claim they are boycotting the game. Everyone will STILL buy it. And nothing will change.

god what a moron u are. They explain how good their technology is and nothing on why they took the shit out.

The only problem I've had with the expansions is the more you have the longer the loading times and more unstable the game. It's like putting together a jigsaw puzzle when some of the pieces aren't quite right. Not to mention the troubleshooting process is horrid.

So, the short version is that I'm going to wait until this game has Toddlers, Pools, Pets, and Seasons before I bother with it at all?

Basically we didn't have time so we are releasing the game unfinished. This is not an explanation of why they didn't do it but rather why they couldn't do it in the time. If you released unfinished games I won't buy the game simple as that.

I feel like I am in the minority when I say the actual expansion packs aren't a bad deal. They tend to add a load of new content and play options.

So... They basically pulled an Ubisoft and claimed that toddlers and pools were too difficult to program.

I prefer them to delay the game instead.
Well, what would we expect from EA?
EA: Challenge everything :P ?

What I read here is: Instead of pools, we decided walls were more fun and everyone knows the Sims interact with walls more than pools so we got rid of those useless pools. A world without pools is more relatable to our customers since they don't exist in their yards after all.. ya know, since we will bleed them dry

Be honest and just say DLC EA...
