My plan was late summer when the 20's go on sale. I even have the down payment already, but it’s being converted to emergency fund backup until all of this calms down.  I’m a contractor and the company I’m working for is analyzing every cost right now, which means that every call from my manager brings a mini heart

Or use it for bomb-diggity food at your favorite place that’s struggling :)

I wouldn’t put it past my grandma.

My grandma bought a 93 Legend to replace her totaled Volvo, and one of my earliest memories of the car was her pointing out the seat memory buttons and telling me to never touch them. Which is grandmaspeak for “I’ll beat the shit out of you if you screw up my settings.” Which, I get, when you’re barely over 5' in a

My brother and I would stand up through the sunroof on our ‘86 via the engine hump :) Safety-minder Mom would only let us do it while in traffic on the Vegas strip.

I’m contracting for a company that has seen a 30% reduction in business over this (we have a lot of business in Asia). There was a hope that my position could turn permanent but my hopes dwindle by the day with these numbers.  Just glad to be working and still have a full queue for now.

For tall people, that places the b-pillar directly to your left, impeding your vision

If I ever get married I'm going to elope by a waterfall in Yosemite and then throw a banging pool party as my "reception".  Catered BBQ and all.  I'm involved in a lot of weddings and it's...not worth the stress.

Because you can do stupid stuff like haul water heaters, dishwashers, wedding cakes, and move in fewer trips with a hatchback.

Mine sets pretty firmly too, but my stand mixer is able to get through it easily after a few whisks around the bowl. If yours is *rock* hard and your mixer can’t get through I’d check your chocolate/cream ratio and fridge temp. Or buy a better mixer. Maybe add a splash more cream or a little less chocolate since the

I make cakes on the side - I have no choice but to think ahead :)

This also makes an excellent cake filling for when you can’t use it on the outside of the cake.  It's also possible to make white chocolate ganache, but it uses a different chocolate/cream ratio (which escapes me at the moment).

Do you have a fellow single person that you could split the perishables with?

Currently saving up a down payment for a new car - I’m about halfway there and hoping to have the rest by summer when the 2020s go on sale.

As a (graphic) designer that absolutely sounds like something we’d say.

I think it’d be really interesting to serve on a jury some day.  Not even sarcasm.  But, for now a full time hourly job and being responsible for a small human are keeping that from happening.

Funny thing about the doors - I didn’t appreciate them until I had a CX-3 as a rental and the doors were so narrow that the B pillar was solidly in front of my shoulder as I sat. I’m 5'-2" - it shouldn’t be so hard for someone of my stature to get into a car, but well, Mazda found a way.

That’s something I’d give serious consideration to as well.

You can also expand this to your house in general. I’ve had a weekly cleaning schedule for about a year now and have really enjoyed my house never entering “disaster” status. Sweep the kitchen Mondays, wash towels on Wednesday, etc. I’ve also got just life reminders on there too - Costco on Fridays, groceries on

Good luck!  I hope your job hunt can end on a good note soon.
