Same. One of the toilets at home requires straight up voodoo to even flush pee properly. The toilets at work will take an arm off by suction alone if you get too close.

Damn, and I thought I was lucky for basically having a private bathroom at work. We don’t even have fancy soap!
Netflix could up the ante by allowing you to program in kids’ birthdays under the Kids profile and then autoplaying the selected video on startup. Of course, that poses the issue of the wrong kid firing up Netflix and the birthday kid missing out, but in my house all the kids wake up and go comatose in front of…
I spend a lot of time driving on the 5 through Camp Pendleton and it’s always so neat to see the Marines doing training exercises on the thin strip of land between the freeway and the ocean. I hope the injured are able to heal quickly!
My immediate thought on seeing that picture was how miserably car sick I’d be in the back of that thing. Nope.
A bank vault and interior safe deposit boxes would probably do a decent job protecting items against winds, but none that I’ve worked with as a teller had watertight features at the doors. Perhaps if flooding wasn’t terrible and you had a box up high enough your things could be ok.
Same.
Put the 1.5T from the Civic into the Fit and make a Fit Si.
Another San Diego no-kill shelter is doing the same, though without the Southwest amenities:
Haha, I suppose that this makes me one of *those* people. I moved in January and my few alive-but-tolerating-me succulents decided that their new side yard is da shit and went to town. Kern responds to positive reinforcement so I spent the summer learning, collecting, propagating, and splitting them because I need…
I’m in San Diego and I had a week of college classes canceled in 2003 for that round of fires. The air was decently clear on campus, but perhaps they did it out of concern for students coming from affected areas. Still had to go to work though, that was annoying.
That’s pretty much my great grandparents’ stories too. In his memoirs, my grandpa made it sound like all his dad and uncle had to do to emigrate was to pack a bag. Said uncle didn’t like NY, so he was all “eff it” and went to Cuba instead. It was a much simpler time.
I used this trick spiked with peppermint oil last night - I was feeling better within 20 minutes!
I don’t have an answer on the love potion thing, but darnit if I didn’t see all the political similarities too :( I actually finished Deathly Hallows on election night and it was fitting.
What about calling ahead to the center and explaining the situation before you show up?
Our local foster center has quite a few kids who were kicked out because they’re gay. A friend of mine is considering becoming a foster mom because she’s so sad about the nonsense of it all.
Ha, this brings up a good point - parents love when you offer to hold the baby for a few minutes so they can eat at the same time, using both hands!
Nurses helped save my dad’s life last night after he had complications from surgery (he’s fine now). I already thought highly of nurses, but they are the best people now. Kudos to your sister’s big heart.
My reason is that we’re not picky about the surround sound and popcorn that a theater offers. I’m currently renting a room from a friend and her family and since we have the same taste in movies we’d rather wait a month or two, put the kids to bed, and all watch a movie for $5 on Google Play in our pajamas while…
I once did design work for a cosmetic that had bee venom in it - we tried it on for funsies and were running to wipe it off within a few minutes. None of us were allergic to bees but it was nasty stuff, ugh.
