Agreed. When you can get a 40mpg 4dr pickup, the case for a tiny econobox just isn’t there. Sure, a Spark is cheaper out the door than a Maverick hybrid, but the mileage isn’t, the resale isn’t, and the general practicality is gone.

Eventually some plucky little car maker is going to figure out how to make a minimum viable product car that they can sell at a profit.

Then all the legacy car makers are going to come back to making the little cars again.

It is the 70's all over again.

Just walk away

I approve of your sub headline spelling.

I used to be all about flipping people off if they tailgated me or cut me off, etc. Now I just let things roll because in the last 30-ish years since I got my license road rage has gone from getting the bird back at you to this kind of shit. Ain’t worth it. Let the other idiot think they win - at least you can walk

and I bet he thought he looked like John Wick when shooting and not like a scared turtle

He looked like a total badass. The control of his weapon points to adequate training. Glad he’s armed and spraying our highways for justice.

Have you looked up the actual definition of promiscuous? One of the definitions on Merriam Webster:

So basically they dumped napalm on Bambi, Thumper and Rocky the squirrel?

“Easy to work on” only applies if you have the knowledge, tools and a place to do the work, plus cash for the parts. I can easily see a scenario where a bucks-down person jumps on this because it’s all they can afford, and then discovers a major issue that he/she can’t pay for or know how to fix.

What the heck is with these comments today?

Schwinn essentially no longer exists having gone bankrupt and losing all the factories in 2001. It’s now a name affixed to whatever they can buy from makers that don’t have any reason to care. You may get a good one, or a bad one, but it won’t be because the assembler/welder has pride in the product.

Interesting, when I was riding bikes as a kid, the bikes proved more durable than my bones. (mid 2000s)

The fact people even take them to a bike shop to get them fixed is hilarious. They’ll spend more on labor than they did on the entire bike.

You mean that $99 bike built by a 16 year old kid in the back of Walmart isn’t of ultra-high quality using the best parts on the market? I’m shocked!

I have been buying cars for close to 30 years.

What’s the argument for this bill? Is this just a naked attempt by car dealers to have less liability, or is there actually some justification they’re spinning for it?

By the time they ever get around to actually selling them, Rivian, GM, Ram and Ford will already have theirs out.

  • Some high credit scorers get high-priced loans. While, on average, borrowers with low credit scores are offered the worst terms, about 21,000 borrowers with prime and super-prime credit scores, about 3 percent of the total borrowers in that group, received loans with APRs of 10 percent or greater—more than double the

It still looks like the trucks I was drawing when I was five.
