Ok, I’m very confused by something. If a batter stares at a HR for 0.070089 seconds, the whole world stops because the decorum of the game has been compromised. But this, a seemingly ridiculous violation of the rules that you have to go out of your way to even accomplish ...and I don’t see any outrage.

I was a rookie football official this past season. I mostly did JV, middle school, and youth leagues (8 - 11 years old or so). I worked the chains at HS games. I anticipated that the higher level games would be more intense. More talk from coaches, parents, etc because there was maybe something actually on the line.…
