It’s one thing for Altman and OpenAI to believe that GPT-4o is “smart,” but another thing to believe that we humans are stupid. OF COURSE they intended for it to sound like Scarlett Johansson. They tried to work directly with her, and when she declined, they found someone who sounds just like her.

Boy, they’re doing their darndest to manifest a commercial success out of this. Ticket presale starting two months before the theatrical release? Which is before a single review? Isn’t that even a little more presumptuous than usual?

Me too. Actually hundreds of DVDs from the late ‘90s, and not a single one — not one — still doesn’t play just as well as the day it was purchased.
