“I’m not American, so I have more than two viable choices in any given election. I’ve always been entirely satisfied with the people I’ve voted for.”

“ The emotional, self absorbed way most white people reject that fact is why white supremacy is still the law of the land. Until every white person accepts their complicity, no matter how small or unintentional, we are not going to get very far.”

“Elections have consequences.”

For the next time someone equates the Democrats with the Republicans, the bill passed the House on a 224-201 vote, with no Democrats backing it and a dozen House GOP members voting no.

“...clueless celebrities would accelerate the process of our decline?”

“Any congressional majority is going to include people like Doug Jones and Joe Manchin, people who are hated by a certain segment of the left and independents who only care about their specific causes.”

“They had a republican congressman, don’t remember which one as they’re all essentially the same these days, on NPR this morning talking about just that. The argument goes that less people will need entitlement programs because there will be so much growth and jobs and bullshit so they may as well shrink the programs

“I’m not too worried about this tax bill - next year will be the real test. Can Democrats and progressives sweep out the greedy right wingers and reinstitute sanity into governing?”

“I just want to offer my most sincere congratulations to everyone out there who realized what a disaster Donald Trump would be as President, but decided to vote 3rd party or not vote at all because you just couldn’t justify being a part of maintaining the status quo that Hillary Clinton represented.”

“Nothing can stop them from burning it all down before the fall.”

“Good luck with that, when we’ve got a huge contingent of Clinton-ish voters out there who complain that leftists are unrealistic children, while DINOs like the Clintons are the ones who can “get things done.” Yeah, they can get things done, like welfare “reform”, and the repeal of Glass-Steagall.”

“And I think a viable third party would cause a lot of soul searching in both Rep and Demo houses when they realize they actually have to stick to their principles...”

Well, it’s kinda tough keeping promises as a member of the minority party when you have ZERO power to either present or prevent legislation. It doesn’t matter which Democrat says what, they’re powerless right now. It comes down to votes and math. They need help from the electorate next November. Send them a majority

“You can chalk it up to that but if you don’t assign any blame to a party that chose an unlikable candidate with decades of baggage who had already been trounced when running for president”

“They learned NOTHING from their own mistakes, just like Clinton and the democratic party learned nothing from theirs.”

“That’s correct. It’s what Nixon did that was sort of a last straw that led congress to basically tell Nixon if he didn’t resign, they were going to vote to impeach and remove him from office.”

“Then we get to see a true constitutional crisis. Republicans will support the move, because they’re fascists. Liberals will get really mad and take to the streets for a day or two armed with silly hates and clever signs. Democrats in Congress will say all kinds of stern stuff with absolutely no recourse to actually

“AND HER ABILITY TO BE LIKEABLE!!!!!!”

“The democrats have been losing the government for the last 7 years.”

“Work on changing the rules.”
