i think my favorite thing about this god awful movie is that the lawn shark wolf thingies in his mermaid movie that were made of grass clippings succeeded in being more frightening than this entire 2 hours of plant nonsense.

Pretending that 30 year olds are highschoolers, and 18 year olds are pubescent, is not something I actually enjoy or think adds value. That we’ve been doing that is to do with things like labor laws and production cycles, not artistic choices.

Depends on the target and the resources involved. Making distant scenery is easier than closeups of people or animals, having a year to work on 10 minutes is different than having 2 months to work on an hour’s worth of stuff. There’s some pretty blatant and middling quality stuff in even the blockbuster movies.
