I hate how loud the game is. I get that the game is the Oasis to Earthbound's Beatles, but the terrible mastering just makes it a little too on-the-nose, y'know?

Top 5 episodes from the event, everyone?
Steven Universe has always walked a very fine line with fusion, and not just in terms of S&P. The show's built up fusion and attitudes towards fusion into a metaphor for all sorts of different things: emotional and physical intimacy, romance, sex-positivity and -negativity, and marginalized classes. It's built things…
I'm sure Jasper's coming back, but at the same time I don't know how the show's premise would be able to handle a general cure for corruption. There'd just be too many characters.
Something I forgot in my original post: one of the biggest signs of the most recent transition is how the end of "Earthlings" moves Jasper away from being the face of Homeworld's bigotry towards being an embittered patriot.
Part of the reason the style doesn't translate so well is that Golden Age animation was a lot more detailed, and so it can sell those physical gags in a way that SU's simpler, flatter style can't. Anime's a better fit for this show since anime as a medium has always struggled with budgetary restrictions.
I like how they set up a pattern of Lars blaming Steven for things that aren't his fault, only to subvert it in "The New Lars", where Steven is 100% at fault for everything.
I have a feeling Peridot's resilience is an Era 2 thing. Sure, they might not be able to shapeshift, but they can take a lot of damage.
The barn would make a really good roadside attraction at this point.
Something long and not very good that I would have written for "Bubbled" had I been around for the airing:
I liked this episode, actually. I think the people who are disappointed with it aren't remembering back to two weeks ago, when things were much more low-key. It's true that it wears its influences on its sleeve more than maybe any other episode of the show, and it's true that modern tributes to old cartoons are always…
I just saw on tumblr that she was also looking on sadly as Ruby and Sapphire were chatting it up in "Hit the Diamond".
Yeah, I think anyone who's into the show enough has a few ideas for musician guest-voices that will obviously never happen. Here are mine:
Well, if you look, the Pink Diamond mural is noticeably less detailed than the others. Hot-off-the-presses fanart doesn't come without compromises.
As good as the voice acting on this show is, you can really tell that Estelle had no prior experience in the opening stretch of S1. (It kinda fit the vibe they were going for with her character at the moment, but wow does it feel weird compared to the way she sounds now.)
I still need to finish the most recent season. I found Piper hard to watch from the beginning, but she's really starting to drag me down at this point. Makes it hard to struggle through for everyone else. I need to know whether Maureen gets to touch that perfect body with her mind!
Although tbh I would have much preferred they pick VAs that allowed for repeat appearances than either of them.
Nicki was a great choice. Aimee Mann really wasn't.
It's a pretty deep pool. (None of them really have voice actor training, but that never stopped Adventure Time.)
It's the Moon. They can get back to the base pretty easily if they want to.
