Did Bismuth's "breaking point" weapon remind anyone else of Anton Chigurh and his bolt pistol?
Did Bismuth's "breaking point" weapon remind anyone else of Anton Chigurh and his bolt pistol?
Super-duper spoiler warning: the next episode, "Beta", is airing tomorrow— but only in Canada. If you don't want to watch illegally, keep yourselves locked up in your spoiler bunker until Monday, when it airs along with "Earthlings".
Ever since we learned about the resource shortages on Homeworld I've been low-key wondering whether they were influenced by the Industrians from Future Boy Conan.
No. Nephrites have long flowing brown hair.
I've never read Anthem, but I'm not sure Homeworld gets a fair shake in the eyes of a lot of the fandom. There's a lot of bureaucracy and a fair bit of neglect or outright prejudice, but as far as I can tell Homeworld tries to provide for their populace, and doesn't do a terrible job.
Also, they really missed out on the opportunity to call this episode "22 Minutes Over Bismuth".
The case against 22-minute Steven Universe: it is profoundly unsettling to watch this show with commercial breaks.
Haha, yeah. For what it's worth, I think Homeworld is actually a decent representation of a collectivist society. It's just that the moment some people make the connection to capital-C Communism their brain goes nuts.

That wasn't a burrito. That was a burrito, wrapped in a pizza, with potato chips inside.
And, as much as she didn't know until then, I'm not sure she actually *felt* it until she lost so hard to Jasper.

She did it back in "On the Run".
That's what I was wondering about!
I wonder what bug necessitated updating the Holo-Pearls to version 2.000001.
There're still new episodes left to air.
In the annals of Amethyst food jokes, I think "making egg salad by putting raw eggs in the garbage disposal" is one of the best. Works as a character beat, too!
I'm all for costume redesigns but I honestly wouldn't mind if Pearl kept the tunic forever.
My immediate thought was of my elementary school speech therapist, but I seem to remember minor prizes extending all the way into high school.
The prize pouch gave me a terrifying image of Pearl as a middle school guidance counselor.
