Yeah. For what it's worth, the only power Steven has that Rose didn't appear to have in any capacity is the "dream communication" one, and that seems more like an interpersonal ability than an offensive one.

I think it's that she was drawn skinny, whereas Stevonnie in previous appearances always had a realistically curvy body type.
Peridot's hair is shaped like a pyramid for the same reason Garnet's hair is shaped like a cube. Peridots have tetrahedral crystal symmetry!
Also, I think it's worth noting that this show has gone long stretches without a recurring antagonist in sight. If they're doing this, they're doing it for a reason.
My kinkshaming knows no bounds.
I think she's had some welcome character development in the background in S2. She got to be the mature one in the Sardonyx arc, and her interactions with Peridot have helped to flesh out both characters. Now they're breaking her down for the sake of drama, and while I'm excited at where they're going I'm going to miss…
Well, the show's already done a lot about coping with loss via Rose. I'm not sure killing a character would be an improvement: it's more likely that it'd just make it like the more tragic parts of S1 but all the time. And as much as I love those moments, I'm going to pass on that. I trust this show on a lot of things,…
Rose having a human fetish is one thing, but Pink Diamond being a furry? That's a step too far.
What is up with you guys and wanting to kill off characters? People were thinking Greg was going to die at the end of S1, now everyone thinks one of the CGs is a goner. It's not going to happen. There is so much more territory to explore if they survive than there is if they die. It'd only make the show needlessly…
>:(
When Peridot saw all the bubbled gems in the heart of the temple her mind immediately jumped to the idea she was about to be "harvested". We still don't know what they meant, but there's probably some knowledge of bubbling somewhere on Homeworld.
Jasper was comboing Amethyst pretty hard with those punches in their fight— I got shades of Street Fighter.
Also, there's a tweet by one of the show staff saying that Jasper "is a complicated character, as people will eventually find out". I'll trust them on this for the moment.
Personally, I give the showrunners a *lot* of credit when it comes to character development. They foreshadow stuff very far in advance, and consistently find new angles for them. To give an example: in "Marble Madness", Peridot's first episode as an actual character, she gets really angry about people destroying her…
Well, look at it this way: it's one thing to wish for someone's death, it's another to have your hands on their windpipe when you do it.
I think she worked really well in this episode as a way to (brutally) externalize Amethyst's own self-doubt. My own feelings about Jasper are starting to resemble yours, but I think there are a couple interesting shades to her character if you think about it enough.
Both things could cause corruption, for all we know. It's certainly been on the show's radar recently, and there's definitely a reason they gave it a close-up.
I assumed you'd just forgotten the time zone and that it'd come up in an hour or so.
I was wondering whether we'd ever explore Amethyst's discomfort over not fitting the mold of a Quartz gem. If you look back at "Too Far" you'll realize that, while Peridot apologizes at the end, we don't actually get a resolution to Amethyst's feelings. Knowing her, she bottled things up, got mad for a while and then…
It looks wrong, somehow— which makes it a good choice.
